Students will be able to use these theories to set up design and art creative methodology, and to develop their analytic skills and critical thinking.

This module studies exhibition and performance planning in today’s world. Planning, execution, marketing, extended activities, outreach programs, as well as reviewing and revising of a finished project for better planning and marketing of the next event are all included in the module. Due to the nature of the module, in-class study and onsite training are equally important. Therefore, lecture, case study, onsite practice, real world marketing, and other practical trainings will all be parts of the module in order to develop students’ multiple capabilities.

Analysis and Critique of Musical Styles  

The module is divided into two parts. The first part is an in-depth study of 18th, 19th and 20th century musical styles through analyzing the important elements such as Melody, Harmony, Texture, Structure, etc. The second part includes a comparison of all the compositions with similar styles in order to clearly observe those specifics and characteristics of their musical features. A thorough inspection from different viewpoints on all the elements that cause the similarities and differences of these compositions will be covered. Through analysis, evaluation and critique, students will be able to realize the true value of all these masterworks in these three music periods. This module is especially suitable for students interested in music education and music performance.

Seminar on Arts of Music  

This module contains three study units, each consisting of 15 hours. Unit 1 - Folklore and Ritual Musical Culture in Macao. Unit 2 - The 16th-Century Classical A Cappella in Europe: Composition and Performance. Unit 3 - Musical Comedies. Based on substantial cases from fieldwork, cultural observations, related technique analysis and interactive discussions, the content of each topic is easy to understand. Both the academic and cultural aspects in a multicultural and cross–disciplinary perspective are synthesized in order to guide students into an inventive state with theories and narrations, as well as with reasons and evidence.

This module will introduce different research methods and theory, and analyze and discuss cross-disciplinary design procedure. It will also explore how to use researching tools on a research topic, and the writing and formatting of an academic research paper. This module will focus on topic studies of modern art and contemporary art. This module focuses on art education. Thesis  

This module mainly focuses on how to select the questions, collect the materials, read and assemble them, properly use the relevant supporting materials, appropriately quote them to support the personal views, and apply them to thesis writing. The study will develop the students' understanding of the process of writing the academic papers. After the end of the thesis writing, the thesis will be reviewed and the students will be required to present and defend their thesis to the college.
